Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC): a step-by-step guide

Visas & entry· 2 min read

Since 1 May 2025, the paper arrival card (TM6) has been replaced by the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). It is mandatory for every non-Thai traveller entering by air, land or sea — including children — and it remains in force under the new 30-day visa-exemption rules.

Use only the official website: tdac.immigration.go.th. The TDAC is free. Several look-alike websites charge "service fees" — you don't need them.

When to fill it in

Submit the TDAC within the three days (72 hours) before you arrive in Thailand. You can still complete it later, up until you reach the immigration counter, but doing it at home saves stress at the airport.

What you need

  • Your passport
  • Your flight details (flight number and arrival date)
  • Your address in Thailand (hotel, hospital or apartment)
  • An email address to receive the confirmation

Depending on your nationality and recent travel, the form may also ask a few health declaration questions.

Step by step

  1. Open tdac.immigration.go.th and choose to submit an arrival card.
  2. Enter your personal details exactly as they appear in your passport.
  3. Add your trip information: arrival date, flight number, purpose of visit and where you will stay.
  4. Answer the health questions if they appear.
  5. Review everything and submit.
  6. Save the confirmation email or PDF with the QR code on your phone, or print it.

On arrival, show the QR code with your passport at immigration. If you didn't receive the email or QR code, tell the immigration officer.

Good to know

  • One TDAC per entry. If you leave Thailand and come back, you need a new one.
  • The TDAC is not a visa. It does not replace a visa if your nationality or purpose of travel requires one.
  • Transit passengers who do not pass through immigration don't need a TDAC.
  • Forgot? Kiosks are available at Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK), Phuket (HKT), Chiang Mai (CNX) and Hat Yai (HDY) airports.
